David L. Hostetler, Coshocton Municipal Court
Education:
Judge Hostetler received his Bachelor's Degree from Kent State University in 1973. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Akron School of Law in 1976. He was a member of Law Review and received a Board of Trustees Academic Scholarship.

Professional:
Judge Hostetler was an Assistant Coshocton County Prosecutor for seven years and was a partner in the law firm of Leech, Freeman, Scherbel and Hostetler. He was admitted to practice before the United States District Court and the United States Supreme Court. He served as Acting Judge in the Coshocton Municipal Court for several years before being elected to the full time Judge's position in 1987. For many years, he was a certified instructor for the Ohio Peace Officer's Training Academy. He is a member of the State of Ohio and County of Coshocton Bar Associations, the American Judge's Association,and the Municipal and County Court Judge's Associations of Ohio where he has served on the Jury Instructions Committee, the Legislative Committee, and the Single Judge Court Committee. He has been a faculty member of the Ohio Judicial College and has taught courses on D.U.I. evidence.

Personal:
Judge Hostetler is married to the former Linda Clark of Coshocton and has three children: Amanda, Justin, and Jacob all of Coshocton, and three grandchildren: Jade, Hannah, and Kaden Poorman. He enjoys playing bad golf, doing mediocre woodworking, reading, and tinkering with computers. He is currently a member of the Coshocton Rotary Club and Grace United Methodist Church.
